DIN 916 Socket Set Screws, Cup Point
We supply DIN 916 cup point socket set screws in self colour high-strength steel, property class 45H (commonly called grade 14.9), and A2/A4 stainless steel, from M1.6 to M24. The hollow cup point bites into the shaft for a firm friction grip without a locating dimple - the general-purpose socket set screw for collars, couplings and pulleys.

Is DIN 916 the same as ISO 4029?
DIN 916 and ISO 4029 both cover cup point hexagon socket set screws. The standards are closely related, although dimensional or technical differences may exist. If your drawing specifies either designation, send us the requirement and we can identify the appropriate product.
Which socket set screw point should I use?
Cup point DIN 916 is the general-purpose choice, gripping the shaft by friction. Use flat point DIN 913 where the surface must not be marked, cone point DIN 914 for strong positive location, dog point DIN 915 to locate into a hole or slot, and knurled cup for extra resistance to loosening.
