JCP Throughbolts, Zinc & Yellow Plated

M6 - M24 (45 - 260mm) Carbon steel, zinc and yellow plated

We supply JCP zinc and yellow plated throughbolts from M6 to M24 in lengths from 45mm to 260mm. A throughbolt is a torque-controlled expansion anchor fitted through the fixture: the anchor hole matches the bolt diameter, so awkward fixtures can be bolted in place without marking out, removing and repositioning. The ZYP range is JCP's general-purpose line for non-cracked concrete C20/25 to C50/60.

Materials & strength

Material & finish

Carbon steel, zinc and yellow passivated (ZYP). Suitable for dry internal environments; for external or corrosive environments use the hot dip galvanised or stainless steel ranges.

Installation torque

Tightening torques in the table are the anchor installation torques for the JCP range. Torque-controlled expansion relies on reaching the stated torque - use a calibrated torque wrench.

What size hole do I drill for a throughbolt?

A through fixing is installed straight through the fixture into the base material, and the throughbolt's equal drill and anchor diameter is what allows that - an M10 throughbolt goes into a 10mm hole drilled through fixture and concrete together. Drill to at least the minimum hole depth in the table, clean out the dust, tap the anchor through the fixture and torque the nut.

When should I use an ETA-assessed throughbolt instead?

The zinc plated range is JCP's general-purpose line for non-cracked concrete. Where the specification calls for an assessed anchor, ETA Option 7 is the non-cracked assessment; where cracked concrete, fire resistance or seismic performance is specified, the Option 1 ranges carry those assessed characteristics.
