Pozi Flange Self-Tapping Screws (Type AB)
We supply pozi flange self-tapping screws to BS 4174 with the Type AB spaced thread and sharp point, in steel zinc plated, steel black and A2 stainless steel, from gauge 4 (2.9mm) to gauge 14 (6.3mm). The integral flange under the pan head spreads the load over a larger area, doing the work of a separate washer in sheet metal fixing.

Materials & strength
Integral flange
The flange under the head spreads clamping load over a wider area than a plain pan head - useful on thin sheet and slotted or oversize holes, and it removes the need for a separate washer in many fixings.
BS 4174
Supplied to the British Standard for self-tapping screws; there is no matching DIN number for this flange head pattern.
Type AB thread and point
Spaced self-tapping thread with a sharp point that forms its own thread in sheet metal, plastics and pre-punched holes.
Material options
Steel zinc plated for general indoor use, steel black where a dark finish is wanted, and A2 stainless for corrosion resistance.
