DIN 7984 Low Head Socket Cap Screws
We supply DIN 7984 low head socket cap screws in high tensile grade 10.9 self colour and A2/A4 stainless steel, from M3 to M24, plus grade 8.8. The reduced-height head takes a smaller key than DIN 912 and suits restricted spaces where a full cap head will not clear.
Also known as: low head capscrew, reduced head socket screw, low profile socket screw, thin head cap screw.

What is the difference between DIN 7984 and DIN 912?
Both are hex socket cap screws. DIN 7984 has a head roughly half the height of the DIN 912 cap head and takes a smaller key, trading drive engagement for clearance in tight assemblies.
Is DIN 7984 available in stainless steel?
Yes - DIN 7984 low head cap screws are available in A2 and A4 stainless steel across a wide range of metric sizes, alongside high tensile grade 10.9 self colour.
When should I use low head cap screws?
Low head socket cap screws are useful where there is insufficient clearance for a standard socket cap screw, such as shallow counterbores or assemblies where a taller head could interfere with adjacent or moving components.
