DIN 7983 Pozi Raised Countersunk Self-Tapping Screws (Type AB)
We supply DIN 7983 pozi raised countersunk self-tapping screws with the Type AB spaced thread and sharp point, in steel zinc plated and A2 and A4 stainless steel, from gauge 4 (2.9mm) to gauge 14 (6.3mm). The raised (oval) countersunk head seats in a countersunk hole with a shallow dome standing proud - a neater decorative finish than a flat countersunk head.
Also known as: pozi raised csk self tapper, raised countersunk self tapping screw, oval head sheet metal screw, raised head self tapper, din7983, DIN 7983 C.

Materials & strength
Raised countersunk head
Countersunk seating with a shallow domed top - often chosen for visible fixings where a decorative finish matters.
Type AB thread and point
Spaced self-tapping thread with a sharp point that forms its own thread in sheet metal, plastics and pre-punched holes.
Steel zinc plated
Zinc plated (BZP) finish as standard for general indoor fixings.
Stainless A2 and A4
A2 for general corrosion resistance; A4 is the molybdenum-bearing grade for marine and chloride environments.
Related specificationsWhat is a raised countersunk head?
A countersunk head with a shallow dome on top - also called an oval head. It seats in a countersunk hole like DIN 7982 but leaves a slight decorative raise above the surface rather than a flat face.
How does DIN 7983 differ from DIN 7982?
The countersunk angle and seating are the same; DIN 7983 adds a raised dome (0.9mm to 2.0mm depending on gauge) above the countersink. Choose DIN 7982 for a fully flush finish.
How do the gauge sizes convert to metric diameters?
The gauges in the dimension table correspond to these diameters: 4g = 2.9mm, 6g = 3.5mm, 7g = 3.9mm, 8g = 4.2mm, 10g = 4.8mm, 12g = 5.5mm and 14g = 6.3mm.
