JCP Shield Anchors, Loose Bolt

M6 - M16 Carbon steel, zinc and yellow plated

We supply JCP loose bolt shield anchors in zinc and yellow plated steel from M6 to M16. The shield anchor is the classic torque-controlled masonry anchor: thick-walled expander segments give it exceptional grip in brick as well as concrete. The loose bolt pattern supplies the shield with its own bolt, fitted through the fixture.

Shield anchor or throughbolt?

Shield anchors expand thick steel segments over a large contact area, which is why they hold well in solid brick and blockwork where a throughbolt's wedge would crush or spall the material. In sound non-cracked concrete a throughbolt is quicker to fit and usually the first choice.

What is the difference between loose bolt and projecting bolt patterns?

Loose bolt: the bolt comes out, goes through the fixture and into the shield - good where the fixture is offered up after the anchor is placed. Projecting bolt: a stud stands proud of the wall and the fixture drops over it onto a nut - good for lining up heavy items. Same shield, same sizes, different fitting sequence.
