Type U Hammer Drive Screws (BS 4174)
We supply Type U hammer drive screws to BS 4174 - round head drive screws with a multi-start helical thread that are hammered rather than turned into a pre-drilled hole - in electro brass, nickel plate, steel zinc plated and stainless steel, from gauge 00 to gauge 10. The traditional fixing for nameplates, data plates and drain covers.

The multi-start, steep helix thread turns the screw as it is hammered into a pre-drilled hole - no screwdriver recess is needed.
Designed as a permanent fixing
With no drive recess, the head gives little purchase for withdrawal - removal generally means drilling the screw out. Suits tamper-discouraging fixings like nameplates and labels.
Electro brass finish
The traditional finish for nameplate and plaque fixing, matching brass plates.
