DIN 7981 Type B Pozi Pan Self-Tapping Screws
We supply DIN 7981 Type B pozi pan self-tapping screws - the blunt-ended (DIN point form F) version of the standard pozi pan self-tapper - in steel zinc plated and A2 stainless steel, from gauge 4 (2.9mm) to gauge 10 (4.8mm). The flat end suits pre-punched or pre-drilled holes where a protruding sharp point is unwanted.

Materials & strength
Type B blunt end
Same spaced self-tapping thread as Type AB but with a flat end in place of the sharp point - DIN point form F, often listed as DIN 7981 F.
For pre-formed holes
The blunt end needs a pre-punched or pre-drilled hole to start in, and avoids the snag and scratch risk of a protruding sharp point.
Steel zinc plated
Zinc plated (BZP) finish for general indoor fixings.
Stainless steel A2
Good general corrosion resistance for indoor and external use.

When would I choose Type B over Type AB?
Choose Type B where the hole is already formed and a protruding sharp point would snag, scratch or present a hazard behind the panel. Type AB, with its gimlet point, is easier to start in its pilot hole in thin sheet - both types need a pre-drilled or punched pilot hole and form the thread, not the hole.
