DIN 7504 · Countersunk self-drilling screw

We supply DIN 7504 countersunk self-drilling screws in form P (cross recess) and form O (cross recess, A2 stainless), plus the raised countersunk form Q, from 2.9mm to 6.3mm diameter. The hardened drill point cuts its own hole in sheet steel and taps the thread in one operation, with the countersunk head finishing flush. The raised countersunk form Q shares the form P head dimensions.

Also known as: self drilling screw countersunk, din 7504 p, din 7504 o, din 7504 q, csk self driller, tek screw countersunk, raised csk self drilling screw.

Materials & strength

Drill point

The fluted drill point cuts its own pilot hole in sheet steel, then the thread taps in behind it - a one-operation fixing.

Countersunk forms

Forms P and O both carry a cross recess countersunk head; form Q is the raised countersunk variant. Available in steel zinc plated, steel black and A2 stainless.

Stainless steel A2

A2 stainless for corrosion resistance across the range.

Steel finishes

Zinc plated and black finishes on hardened carbon steel.

Frequently asked

When should I use a countersunk self-driller?

Where the fixing must finish flush - cladding trims and panel work - and the material is thick enough to countersink or the head can pull itself flush in softer facings.

What do forms P, O and Q mean?

Forms P and O are the DIN 7504 form designations for the cross recess countersunk pattern, and form Q is the raised countersunk head. These screws are available in steel zinc plated, steel black and A2 stainless.

What is the difference between these and DIN 7982 self-tappers?

DIN 7982 taps its own thread but needs a pre-drilled hole; DIN 7504 has a drill point that cuts the hole itself. For fixing into pre-punched sheet the self-tapper is often the economical choice.

Are these available in stainless steel?

Yes - A2 stainless is listed across the 2.9mm to 6.3mm range. Send us your requirement and we will quote sizes to suit.
