Steel grade 4 & stainless A2/A4
Grade 4 steel covers general duties; A2 and A4 stainless cover corrosive environments, with A4 preferred for chloride or marine exposure.
What are wing nuts used for?
Wing nuts are tightened and released by hand, so they suit fixings that are adjusted or removed regularly - guards, covers, clamping arrangements and general machinery and equipment assembly. No tools are needed in normal use.

What materials are wing nuts available in?
Wing nuts are available in steel grade 4 and stainless steel A2 and A4 across a wide range of metric sizes. Stainless suits damp or corrosive conditions where plated steel is not appropriate.
Can wing nuts be used where vibration is present?
Hand-tightened wing nuts have no locking feature, so under vibration they can work loose; a locking element or a different nut type is usually specified for vibration-prone joints. Wing nuts are best kept to fixings valued for quick hand access.
