How do Nord-Lock washers work?
They are fitted as a glued pair with cam faces between them and serrations outward. The cam rise is greater than the bolt's thread pitch, so any attempt of the bolt to rotate loose forces the joint tighter rather than looser - locking by geometry, not friction.
Are Nord-Lock washers reusable?
The washers are designed for reuse when the pairs are kept together and the serrations are undamaged; inspect on reassembly and replace worn pairs.
