Materials & strength

Radial fitting

Installs sideways into the groove, suiting assemblies where the shaft end cannot be reached.

Frequently asked

What is an e-clip?

A small retaining ring shaped like the letter E, pressed radially into a shaft groove. Because it fits from the side it can be installed where the shaft end is inaccessible.

How is an e-clip fitted and removed?

It is pushed square-on into the groove with pliers or an applicator until the lobes snap over the shaft, and levered off to remove. Clips distorted on removal should be replaced.
